Polypropylene ropes have taken an honorable place in the fleet, as well as in other areas of human activity.
The raw material for the production of these ropes is polypropylene (multifilament thread with a density of 0.90 g/cm3), known in the world under the following names: herculon (USA), pailene (Japan), meraclone (Italy), spanstron (Great Britain), etc. .
Polypropylene ropes have good electrical insulation and elastic properties (in resistance to double bending they surpass polyamide fibers, but are inferior to them in resistance to abrasion), resistant to acids, alkali solutions, organic solvents, oils. The heat and light resistance of polypropylene is relatively low. Polypropylene ropes do not absorb moisture and therefore do not change the breaking load and linear density when used in an aquatic environment. At temperatures of 60, 80 and 100В°C, the reduction in breaking load is 15, 20 and 45%, respectively. Low temperatures almost do not affect these properties of the rope. The melting point of the rope is 165В°.
The disadvantage of polypropylene ropes is their low resistance to solar radiation (solar radiation) and low thermal stability. During operation, the knots of polypropylene ropes are prone to creeping, so they must be made double.
APPLICATION – equipment for sea and river fleets - mooring ropes. In industrial fishing - manufacturing and repair of fishing trawls. In industry and construction - cargo operations.
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: The safety margin for synthetic fiber ropes should be sixfold. In other words, it is necessary to limit the working load of the twisted product to 15-17% of the breaking load. The maximum permissible load should be no more than 2/3 of the breaking load. Compliance with this requirement will dramatically reduce the risk in your work and significantly increase the service life of the ropes.
All our ropes are manufactured using the"Double Twist" technology.
The "Double Twist" technology means that during manufacture, each of the three strands that make up the rope is twisted from thin three-strand ropes (coils), which, in turn, are twisted from thinner threads. That is, the rope consists of strands, and each strand is made of thinner ropes. With the usual "rope" technology, the threads in the strand are not twisted, but folded. Double Twist technology increases the strength of the rope, increases wear resistance, and improves its appearance.
We can produce ropes from 3 to 14 mm in a variety of colors.
