The rope protector is designed to protect the working rope from damage due to structural or relief bends.
The rope almost always passes through dangerous areas (edges, peaks, ebbs), which can damage or even cut it. These areas are the most vulnerable points when a climber is hanging. The edge of the visor can easily cut the rope and this danger is often underestimated, but it should not be done. If the rope is well stretched, then even the sharpest objects will not have any difficulty cutting or fraying it. To prevent such problems, you should use a rope protector.
The protector is used when attaching vertical cargo railings when performing high-altitude work by industrial mountaineering or when attaching safety ropes in sport climbing. The protector wraps around the rope and is fixed with a longitudinal Velcro tape fastener.
To increase the reliability of fixation along the hanging edge of the protector, there is an additional tape fastener.
On the opposite edge of the protector there is a rope loop for attaching the protector to a rope using a Prusik knot.
